Together for the same passion they traveled a long road so getting to be a couple who are known for their strength, maturity and defined tango style. Since 1996, were formed with renowned masters and their first experience in the tango dance was in 1997. Since then they participated in important national and international shows directed by renowned dancers and choreographers.
Since 2002 they travel to different cities in Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and EEUU giving workshops and being part of important events and Tango Festivals. In 2006 they were invited to be the leading couple of the video clip ¨Diferente¨ of Gotan Project.
In Buenos Aires they participate in the most important Tango Festivals as CITA, Tango Salón Extremo, Argentina Tango Salón, Mujercitas among others and also travel to different cities of the country to give classes and seminars for the purpose of transmit their knowledge to new generations of tango dancers.
They are also invited by the Government of Buenos Aires, to serve as jurors of the Metropolitan Tango Championship and World Tango Championships.Their dance is characterized by the precision and quality of their movements, the elegance and preserve the purest and essential tango.
Alejandra Mantinan - one of tango's iconic women.
She began dancing at the age of 8 in the "Escuela Nacional de Danza" where after 10 years she earned the "Maestra Nacional de danza" diploma while at the age of 17 she entered the "Ballet de Danza Contemporanea" by Soledad Fernandez laboratories at San Martin Theater. In 1988, in parallel with her artistic career, she started her university of medicine (UBA) where she regularly attended courses, specializing in traumatology and rehabilitation, and acquiring a specific know-how in motor science, which is now an integral part of her teaching method ATM focusing in Biomechanics.
As the assistant of Antonio Todaro for five years, she delved into the secrets of the dance of Buenos Aires and from his style she was inspired to develop her Tango technique. Apart of Todaro, the most important information for women came from Ester Pugliese and Marijo Alvarez that was the only two female teachers that she accepts as a reference point in her career and changed completely her point of view into the couple. The former about the line of Tango and latter for the biomechanics part. She was the main actress for the Tango Passion show for 14 years and performed with the orchestras of Osvaldo Pugliese, Horacio Salgán, Mariano Mores, José Basso and Sexteto Mayor.
She has performed in the most prestigious theaters of over 340 cities all over the world like, Sistina Theater in Rome, Broadway Theater in Broadway, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Champs Elisee Theater in Paris, Cremlino Theater in Moscú, St.Petersburg's Opera, Monaco Theater, Berlín Philharmonic. She had the pleasure to perform with the most popular dancers in Tango like, Fabian Salas, Gustavo Russo, Leandro Oliver, Gabriel Misse, Osvaldo Zotto, Juan Carlos Copes, Juan Corvalan, Omar Ocampo, Mariano “Chicho” Frumboli, Pablo Veron, Martin Ojeda, Horacio Godoy, Diego “El Pajaro” Riemer, Leandro Palou, Aoniken Quiroga, Mariano Otero, Guillermo Salvat.
Her innovative pedagogical method ATM, based on biomechanics, can be used in every style, Tango Salon, Milonguero or the more new tendencies of the evolving Tango Dance. Since 2003, she has decided to devote mainly to teaching, taking lessons, stages, seminars and workshops at major festivals around the world (United Kingdom, Australia, China, Japan, Italy, USA, Russia, France, Ukrane, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Canada, South Africa, United Emirates of Arabia, Turkey, Greece, etc.)
Danilo Maddelena (ITALY) - international dancer, instructor, organizer of the European Tango Festival & Championships.
Danilo began dancing Ballroom and Latin American dances at the age of 7 and has been participating in numerous national and international competitions, achieving many titles throughout his youth. In 2011 he received his diploma as Professional and International Judge, licensed by the World Dance Council (WDC).
His study of Argentine tango started in Italy with teachers such as Miguel Angel Zotto, Alicia Mabel Vacarini, then live periods of months in Buenos Aires studying with milongueros as Carlitos Perez, through Vanesa Villalba, Facundo Pinero, Maximiliano Cristiani, Jesica Arfenoni, Alejandra Gutty. Since then, he has danced along side with Javier Rodriguez and Noelia Barsi, Gaspar Godoy and Carla Mazzolini, Candelaria Torres and Manuel Labarraz in Buenos Aires, Sebastian Arce and Natalia Cristofaro in Moscow, also partnered with Alejandra Mantinan in shows since 2015.
He became the organizer of the major festival, the Italian Championship and European Championship, officially recognized from the government of Buenos Aires (FESTIVAL Y MUNDIAL) in 2014 and the owner and organizer of the Metropolitano Tango in Italy which started in 2015. In 2015 he has become the Artistic Director of the Maquina Tanguera, one of the most important Tango Academy and Milonga in Italy, where he dances with Patricia Carrazco in Tango Salon and Escenario and take part as a guest in many festivals and shows around the world.
FACUNDO PIÑERO - she worked in Casas de Tango as Madero Tango, Taconeando, Complejo Tango, Barracas Tango, Tango Red and Chiquin. He began to travel the world at 17 years, companies such as: Latin Dance, Tango Odyssey, Tango Emotion, Mora Godoy, Tanguera and Forever Tango.
VANESA VILLALBA - she worked in Casas de Tango as: La Ventana, Piazzolla Tango, Homero Manzi and Boca Tango. She was champion of tango Baradero 2002 and later worked on the jury panel. She traveled the world for 4 years with the company Forever Tango as a dancer and also assistant choreographer.
Vanesa Villalba and Facundo Piñero - they have participated in the festival of Buenos Aires tango with their work DESENCUENTRO. Jurors were World Tango in different regions. They also participate in numerous festivals as teachers and choreographers in different countries, such as Italy, Greece, Korea, USA and Japan, Turkey, Russia.
Michael Thomas started dancing tango at the age of ten, back in 1999 in the renown tango school and milonga “La Galeria del Tango” in Boedo, City of Buenos Aires. His First mentors and maestros were Ernesto Balmaceda and Stella Baez. Between 2002 and 2006 he studied with many teachers that were part of the old milongueros school like Javier Rodriguez & Geraldine Rojas, Gustavo Naveira & Giselle Anne, Julio Balmaceda & Corina de la Rosa, Gabriel Angio & Natalia Games among others.
Between 2006 and 2010 he was teaching and performing in Buenos Aires at several well known venues like “Glorias Argentinas”, “Salon Dandi” and “Porteño y Bailarin” Since 2010 he performed and taught in USA and in the suburbs of Buenos Aires, his hometown Lomas de Zamora and Adrogue. In 2015 he continued his studies in tango salon with Leandro Oliver & Laila Rezk, and Gabriel Misse. In 2017 he won with Ana Thomas, his sister and tango partner the 2017 USA OFFICIAL ARGENTINE TANGO CHAMPIONSHIP, in tango de pista category.
Ana Thomas started dancing ballet, contemporary dance and jazz at the age of 7. She learned how to dance tango since very young from her father Edmundo Thomas and brother Michael Thomas. She studied at the National School of Dance 'Maria Ruanova' in Buenos Aires and joined the IUNA (National Arts University) to continue her studies in contemporary dance in 2011.
In 2014 she graduated from the prestigious 'Taller de Danza Contemporanea del Teatro San Martin' in Buenos Aires. She has been training in tango for the last 6 years with maestros Leandro Oliver, Laila Rezk, Natalia Hills, Alejandro Aquino, Gabriel Misse, Analia Centurion, Guillermina Quiroga among others. In 2017 she won the US Tango Championship with her brother and partner Michael Thomas.
Maureen and Carlos started dancing together in 2016, combined they bring to you many years of experience in teaching, performing, choreographing and producing shows, such as Seasons of Tango and Midsummer Night Tango Cabaret. Carlos began dancing tango since 1999 and also brings the experience of having knowledge in other various latin dances and winning several awards along the way in his career.. He also studied dance at the Universtiy of Antioquia in Colombia. Maureen has danced all her life with knowledge in ballet, folk dances and latin dances but ultimately fell in love with tango in 2009 and has dedicated herself to this dance ever since.
