Manuela Rossi & Juan Malizia

2014 Stage Tango World Champions & 2013 third place Salon Tango World Champions

Highly accomplished in competition, judged and performed at prestigious tango events all around the world.

Manuela’s Dance Training and Back Ground

Manuela Rossi began training in dance at the age of eleven, first in modern jazz then transitioned to classical ballet.
She graduated from the “Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colon” (National Ballet School in Argentina), she also took a Summer Course at School of American Ballet in New York, and won a UNESCO Scholarship in 2005 to study 2 years at “L’Ècole Superièure de Danse de Cannes Rosella Hightower” in Cannes, France.
Manuela’s tango training included world-renowned Argentine Tango Maestros like Melina Brufman , Claudio Gonzalez, Sabrina & Ruben Veliz, German Cornejo, Carolina Bonaventura, Francisco Forquera, Fabian Peralta, Rene Amaya and Martin Ojeda.
Manuela has performed in shows like “Tanguera,” “Tango Porteño,” “Tango Buenos Aires.” “Ayres de Tango,” and “Dramatic Tango.”
She has toured/ performed/ instructed in Argentina, Chile, Austria, Germany, Africa, China, USA and Japan.

Awards and recognition

2009-2011 – Second Place Tango Salon World Championship
2012 – Competed with her partner Juan Malizia at “Buenos Aires Tango Festival” in Rome, competing in “Campeonato de Campeones” (Champions Championship), winning First Place at “Contemporary Tango Interpreters.”
2013 – Third Place Tango Salon World Championship
2013 – Second Place Tango Salon and Vals Categories at “Campeonato Metropolitano de Tango”
2014 – First Place Tango Vals in “Campeonato de Tango de la ciudad”

Juan’s Dance Training and Back Ground

Juan has a comprehensive background in dance. He has studied with world -renowned Argentine Tango Maestros: Gustavo Russo, Jorge Torres, Roberto Herrera, Claudio Gonzalez and Melina Brufman, Gachi Fernandez and German Cornejo and classical dance with Mariela Ruggeri and Monica Souto.

2013 – Second Place Tango & Vals Categories at “Campeonato Metropolitano de Tango”

2012 – Competed with his partner Manuela Rossi at “Buenos Aires Tango Festival” in Rome, competing in “Campeonato de Campeones” (Champions Championship), won First Place in “Contemporary Tango Interpreters” category.

Los Veliz – Ruben & Sabrina Veliz

Since 2006, Sabrina and Ruben have participated in several tango festivals around the world as teachers and performers.

In 2014, Ruben wrote his book “Secretos del abrazo,” detailing the techniques they developed teaching tango. The book is available in Spanish, English, Russian and Italian.

In 2015 and 2018, Ruben was tango stage´s adjudicator in the final round of the Argentinian Tango World Championship.

As choreographers, they created “Recuperado” in 2015, “A nuestro hijo” in 2014, “Al Sur del Sur” for River North Chicago Dance Company in 2011, “Dramatic Tango” in 2010, on tour in Japan, “Tangos Corazonicos” during 2009 in Buenos Aires, and also they created and directed “Tango on stage” on tour in USA, and their last show “Descarnados” in 2018 .

In 20009, they were judges in Japan, Spain, and Chile of the Tango World Championship.

During 2008, they toured China with their show Radio Latina, covering six cities including Shanghai, the same year they toured Japan with the Momoco Aida orchestra and debuted their show “Abrazame” at the Menton Tango Festival in France and toured Holland with the Amsterdam Sinfonietta presenting their choreography “Last Round.”

In July of 2006, during the Soccer World Cup, they were featured in a TV special in Holland.

On April 30, 2005, they made an appearance during the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Queen Beatrix of Holland reign.

Between 2001 to 2005 they performed in different places in Buenos Aires like Esquina Carlos Gardel, El Querandi and Rojo Tango. They take part in companies like Tango x 2 and Tango Emocion.

March 1998 through February 2001, they were cast in the Nueva Compañia Tangueros, and premiered in the show “Milonga Boulevard” in New York, USA, playing the lead couple. Their work received excellent reviews from critic Jack Anderson of the “New York Times.”

Vanesa Villalba & Facundo Piñero

FACUNDO PIÑERO – worked in Casas de Tango as Madero Tango, Taconeando, Complejo Tango, Barracas Tango, Tango Red and Chiquin. He began to travel the world at the age of 17 in companies such as: Latin Dance, Tango Odyssey, Tango Emotion, Mora Godoy, Tanguera and Forever Tango.

VANESA VILLALBA – worked in Casas de Tango as: La Ventana, Piazzolla Tango, Homero Manzi and Boca Tango. She was champion of tango Baradero 2002 and later worked on the jury panel. She traveled the world for 4 years with the company Forever Tango as a dancer and also assistant choreographer.

Vanesa Villalba and Facundo Piñero – have participated in the festival of Buenos Aires tango with their work DESENCUENTRO. They were jurors in World Tango for different regions. They also participate in numerous festivals as teachers and choreographers in different countries such as Italy, Greece, Korea, USA, Japan, Turkey, and Russia.

Sarita Apel & Andres Bravo

Andres Bravo (Colombia) and Sarita Apel (The Netherlands) started their dance partnership in 2018.

ANDRES BRAVO (Colombia) – started dancing Tango at the age of 11 years. Throughout his career he has worked with world-renowned Tango artists. Andres was part of the Tango Vivo Company in Colombia, toured the US with the company Three to Tango, presented Colombia at the 8th World Tango Summit of San Carlos de Bariloche in 2002 and was hired to choreograph the show “Te amo Tango” in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He also was a multiple Champion in both Tango Salon and Stage Tango in Colombia.

Sarita APEL (Netherlands) – has been dancing ballet and modern dance since the age of 6 years. She was awarded scholarships at some of the most renowned dance schools: Codarts Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and The Ailey school in New York. Subsequently, she worked with Graham 2, the junior company of the world-renowned Martha Graham Dance Company, and with various modern dance companies in New York. She was introduced to Tango in 2015, when working with Dardo Galletto Dance.

Andres and Sarita are the ATUSA 2019 official US Tango Salon Champions as well as the Tango Salon Champions of the SoCal Tango Championship and Festival 2019.
Together they have performed and taught at many prestigious Milongas like for instance at the Astoria Tango Club and Tango La Nacional in New York, San Diego’s Milonga Nocturna and the Salon Canning and Maldita Milonga in Buenos Aires. In 2019, they performed at the annual Tango show at the Thalia Theater in NYC “Tango+Tango” directed by Gil Angel Orrios and with the Latin Grammy Award winning Raúl Jaurena as musical director. Furthermore, at Carlos and Maureen Urrego’s “Spring Fever Tango Cabaret” show in New Orleans and they also were members of Ana Padron and Diego Blanco’s renowned Tango For All Dance Company, performing and touring in the New York area. Recently they performed at Luis Bravo’s new production “Cumparsita”.
